P-Shot® as treatment for erectile dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction is a widespread sexual disorder. Men who suffer from this are, over a longer period, unable to get or keep an erection firm enough to have sexual intercourse despite being sexually aroused. Erectile dysfunction may significantly affect the quality of life for those affected by it and their partners. With P-Shot® we have a gentle treatment to improve the function of the erectile tissue significantly.

Priapus-Shot® treatment

Erectile dysfunction can be caused by physical as well as psychological factors. A particularly frequent cause is insufficient blood flow to the penis – there is not enough blood in the erectile tissue to achieve a firm erection. This is referred to as vascular erectile dysfunction. The treatment frequently relies on drugs. However, they often do not lead to the expected results.

How the P-Shot® treatment for erectile dysfunction works

P-Shot® can be performed on an outpatient basis and without particular pre- and post-treatment in our practice in Zurich. In an extensive consultation with Dr Ledermann, you will be informed in detail about the treatment.

 

The P-Shot® treatment is based on the use of so-called Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), which serves as the basic substance of the application.

 

The individual steps of the treatment

  1. a strong aneasthesia cream is applied to your penis. After about 20 minutes of application, the penis is almost completely insensitive to pain.
  2. 15-20 ml of blood is taken from your elbow vein with a special collection system.
  3. the blood is centrifuged and the plasma (approx. 10ml) is enriched with a special activator for the blood platelets (thrombocytes).
  4. now the plasma is injected into the erectile tissue and glans with a syringe with a fine needle. Then the penis is massaged for 5 minutes to distribute the plasma.

 

The growth factors and enzymes contained in the platelets of the PRP unfold their effect in the following days and weeks. They lead to the formation of new fine blood vessels and thus to an improvement in blood flow and ultimately to an increase in erection.

 

As an accompanying measure to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles, we recommend treatment with the PelviPower System.
